This Altered Book Siamese Cats. It has only prints from my original SIAMESE CAT oil paintings. It s size is 4 ½ x 7 inches.

Altered Envelope Book CATS

This altered envelope book has 5 envelope and 5 pockets. It has some inspirational cat poetry and it is decorated with crackles and cat images from Brazilian papers. Its size is 8 x 8 1/2.
The covers are fabric like. I am using a new faux finish technique for the covers to look like pieces of stitched fabric.The envelope book is bound with a paper accordion, and is closed with a vintage button

Altered journal Leather

I used a technique to do the cover I learned from my Brazilian decoupage group. It is very nice when you touch it because it reminds you of leather. I used cone shaped coffee filters, stained wqith coffee, of course. Or you can recycle your used filters, wash them and let them dry. I cut them in irregular pieces, glued to the cover using decoupage techniques, put one coat of varnish. let it dry and then I made the stitches using CD pens ( the ones you use to write on CDs). A large pointed one for the holes and a thin pointed for the stitches. After drying I used 3 coats of acrylic varnish and one coat of oil based one. Hope you can use this technique in your works. It takes about 48 hours to have it done.Please enlarge the pictures to see details.

You know, every altered book is unique and this one has only prints from my original oil paintings.It has 6 spreads with 12 limited edition reproductions of my Art Squared paintings and 3 ACEOs. There a two page pocket with tags and ACEOs. The cover is done with decoupage techniques, has a cold porcelain medallion with a cat painting print decoupaged onto it. It is framed with cupped crystals and has a little red crystal dangling jewel.
